Mapping the Forest

Mapping the Forest- a workshop on creativity, meditation, and nature. Join Tamborine artist Bronwyn Davies for this full day immersion.

Participants will meet at the forest at 10 am and go on a guided walk and creative meditation in the forest. We will map our journey as we walk then further develop with paints, inks, haiku and text. Each participant will develop an artist book from the day.

Our day  begins with a walk in one of the beautiful sections of Tamborine Mountain National Park. The focus is about mindful noticing and getting in touch with your creativity. As we walk through the forest, we will stop, make drawings, notes, and observations. Participants will work with a simple pre-made concertina or accordion book as a base for mapping our forest walk. Using natural inks, paints and collage we will track our time in the forest.

Bronwyn has lived amongst and walked the forests of Tamborine Mountain for over 30 years. Participants will meet at the entry to the National Park for an introduction to forest bathing (shinrin yoku). During a half hour meditative walk, we will spend time connecting to all our senses. After our walk we will have morning tea and make our way back to the studio to begin mapping our forest experience in an artist book.
